Rugby league legend Arthur Beetson has died of an apparent heart attack while cycling on the Gold Coast. He set the tone for subsequent State of Origin fixtures when he punched his club teammate Mick Cronin during game one in 1980. He also inspired generations of Indigenous players after becoming the first Indigenous player to captain an Australian team.
