Hawks players cleared of wrongdoing

Hawthorn's Mad Monday celebrations included a clash outside a restaurant and Victoria Police has cleared the Hawks of any wrongdoing, the AFL club says.
A small group of players confirmed with club officials they were involved in a altercation with some young males in Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn on Wednesday morning.
A young man involved in the scuffle reported the incident to police who have reviewed CCTV footage from the Glenferrie Road McDonalds, where the incident took place, and dismissed the assault allegations against any of the Hawthorn players present, the club said in a statement.
McDonalds' staff members have confirmed the Hawks players were set upon outside the restaurant after an verbal altercation with a number of their group inside moments earlier.
The club said McDonalds staff had confirmed the Hawks players did not instigate the altercation.
